Saturday morning found me with one completed Baudelaire and one skein of fugitive sock yarn. Saints preserve me, I think I’m going to have to clean the house… or start another pair of socks while I wait for the yarn to reveal itself.
Since procrastination is something of a specialty of mine, I decided it was the perfect time to gather all my WIPs in one place:
What you see there are three lace shawls and a cardigan.
No, really.
Here, lemme show you, starting with the oldest project
This is Wisteria Garden, the second project from Year of Lace 2009.
I’m working the edging now. Twelve stitches and six rows, back and forth and back an forth and…
Whenever I get tired of it, I spread it out like this. Then I smile happily and do another repeat.
This is Centrino, aka The Big Red Blob, the third project from Year of Lace 2009. (No shellauw, you didn’t miss the finish of this one)
This has been at the same point for several months. About ¼ turn to go, then it’s on to the border. Back and forth and back and forth and… I’m sensing a trend!
Then there’s the Waves in the Square shawl:
This is written for fingering weight, and I’m using Malabrigo Sock for it. Oh, so veryvery soft! A friend of mine (Hi Kate!) gave me the pattern in a swap that we had, and I couldn’t resist it any more.
And finally, the Geodesic Cardigan, out of Malabrigo Lace.
What you see there is the slip-stitch seam. I’m working the waist decreases, and soon it will be time for the tucks. I have high hopes for this cardigan… chief among them that it will actually fit the person I’m knitting it for. Which is myself. I’m measuring obsessively and checking my gauge over and over again. Wish me luck!
Now then… WHERE is that skein of Happy Feet?

All that TINY yarn! Everything is so lovely. I do hope that the sock yarn shows up soon!
what an inspiring WIPs pile! Get to work! I wanna see something finished!!
"Whenever I get tired of it, I spread it out like this. Then I smile happily and do another repeat." Yes! I love this little truth about the joy of knitting.
I'm looking forward to seeing the cardigan on you. A lovely design...
I still lust over your big red blob - I think the colour is gorgeous and can't wait to see the thing all spread out.
But they are such pretty wips. I do understand the border boredom though.
And your geodesic is such a nice colour! I'm taking mine on the bus trip... see if I can get to the tucks too.
Found your yarn yet?
Oh, my!! You have more WIPs than I. I'm so glad someone does! I love the color of that first shawl!
I was afraid I'd missed the end of the big red blob, too. I love love love the color. I am thinking of starting a second shawl but my husband really wants his red socks so I may be monogamous for a while.....
I found that on those long knitted-on edges, it was good to take pictures and blog, so I could see the progress! Otherwise it feels like you knit and knit...
Beautiful work, all.
Personally, I have to have at least 3 projects going at once. Heaven help if I get bored, and there's only one thing on the needles!
You know, this could always be the "biennium of lace"...
Just sayin'. I love your lace knits!
That lavender color is so lovely. It's been loitering around in my brain for awhile.
I'm so excited to see your (many) finished products! Looks like you're cooking up a whole bunch of wonderful things.
